School Description

Ashley Elementary School is located in the East Colfax neighborhood of east Denver, at 1914 Syracuse Street. The East Colfax neighborhood is bounded on the north by East 23rd Avenue and Montview Boulevard, on the south by East 11th Avenue, on the east by Yosemite Street, and on the west by Quebec Street. The neighborhood of East Colfax is bordered by Stapleton to the north and Lowery to the south.

Vision

Ashley Elementary School provides students with an enriched learning environment through the promotion of self-discovery, social interaction, dynamic play opportunities, responsibility and leadership while becoming a community gathering place for the East Colfax neighborhood.

Goals

  • To create a series of quiet study spaces to facilitate the individual learning experience and nurture personal growth through thought and contemplation.
  • To provide a variety of interactive environments that build socialization skills such as responsibility, stewardship, and cooperative play.
  • To provide outdoor learning opportunities that support Ashley’s academic and physical education goals.
  • To create a positive identity for the East Colfax Community.
  • To create a dynamic gathering place through the incorporation of art and literature.
